rku.it expands its executive management: Thorsten Strauß joins a dual leadership team

rku.it GmbH is expanding its executive management team. Thorsten Strauß will join as the company’s second Managing Director on 1 November 2026, forming a dual leadership team with Dirk Stieler at the Herne-based IT services provider.

Appointment and start date

Fact: rku.it’s shareholders have appointed Thorsten Strauß as Managing Director with effect from 1 November 2026. Ulrich Koch chairs the shareholders’ meeting. Strauß will complement the incumbent Managing Director, Dirk Stieler; this is therefore an expansion of the company’s executive leadership rather than a replacement.

Thorsten Strauß’s background

According to the company, Strauß has extensive experience in information technology, particularly in cloud services, consulting and business solutions. He has served as Managing Director of the IHK Gesellschaft für Informationsverarbeitung in Dortmund since 2021.

Analysis

Analysis: The dual leadership structure distributes executive responsibility across two Managing Directors. rku.it links the expansion to changing market requirements, growing technical complexity, regulatory conditions and competitive and cost pressure in the energy and utilities sector. The leadership decision is therefore directly connected to the IT services provider’s operating environment.

Further confirmed leadership and governance decisions are available in the DACH Executive Moves overview.
